1. Choose only a Government University
We strongly recommend you to select a Government University only. Never go for a private university while going abroad for MBBS, specially in eastern Europe including Russia and Georgia. There are many reasons for going only for a Government University like, Private universities provide plastic dummy bodies for clinical science rotations as they are not allowed and issued human body by the Government, most of the private universities in Georgia do not have their own hospitals instead they have tie up hospitals. Mainly these types of private universities are established for money making purpose and in Georgia all such Private universities are very newly established and so do not have a single passed out doctor. Private universities are regulated by private management and their major objective is money making so they do cost cutting when it comes to quality of education, it is observed in many private universities in Georgia that they do not have good English speaking faculties they employ freshers as faculties who do not have adequate experience in teaching MBBS to international students. Moreover the ranking of these universities is also very low. So we at Edxel Strongly recommend to select only high ranked Government University for your MBBS Abroad.
2. University experience to be 15 to 20 Years minimum
It is very important that the university you select should have atleast 20 years of teaching experience to international students. We have set it as 20 years because we believe that it takes this time for any university to become mature in handling and teaching medicine to international students, to develop their English faculty strong and to understand the nature and requirements of international candidates, also to identify their respective country’s medical councils and their requirements and designing and aligning their format accordingly.
3. Amongst Top 15 Country Rank in Medical
Always select a university that has a country ranking within the top 15. Do not go below that. Ranking is given to a university after many assessments and criterias, so it becomes very essential tool for you to assess a university. Always remember that a University with Good infrastructure, facilities, faculties and good record is given a higher rank. So always select a university that comes in Top 15 in country ranking. You can follow the following links to check the ranking of universities in following countries

4. Fully English taught Programs Only (Mainly in Russia & China)
It is very essential that you must choose a program that is fully taught in English medium, many parents and candidates are not aware about this and they pre assume that all abroad medical programs those are offered by agents are English taught, but unfortunately in our country many agents are promoting bilingual programs on large scale, specially in Russia and China. Parents and candidates are hereby advised to check the medium of instruction of the program they wish to apply for. Landing up in a bilingual program will result in lots of disappointment and financial loss so please be alert on this. We at Edxel offers and promotes English programs only.
5. Avoid Philippines due to NMAT Exam
Many Parents and candidates question us on why we suggest to avoid a complete country for medical studies. Well there are multiple reasons for that, education system of Philippines is one of the reason, Indian student who has completed 10+2 from India cannot enroll into Medicine program directly, he/she has to first enroll in BS course which runs for about three to four semesters followed by the Philippines national entrance for medical admissions that is NMAT, kindly note that NMAT is a compulsory exam as it is the national enterance exam set by their government. We understand that a minimum 40 percentile in NMAT is the passing score but largely depends upon different colleges to prescribe the score which may be higher than 40%. We also understand from students here that NMAT is a tough competitive exam. Another important point not clarified to prospective students in India is that as per extant rules in the Philippines, there is a quota fixed for seats for foreign students which is one third of the enrolment. Colleges ( mostly private colleges) in partnership with the educational agents enrol more students in the BS course, sometimes in excess of four to five times over their capacity in the medical college. In other words, if a college has a capacity of inducting 200 seats for foreign students, they enrol roughly about 800 students in the BS course. How they will accommodate the extra students when they do not have the capacity in terms of infrastructure/faculty is a grey area and therefore students are expected to cross check this aspect thoroughly on whether the college has the required capacity in terms of infrastructure/faculty and that their admission to BS course will ultimately lead to an assured admission in the medical course. Follow the Indian Embassy link for more information on MBBS in Philippines http://www.indembassymanila.in/announcements_detail.php?newsid=13
6. Availability of Indian Mess is a BIG Advantage
It is very important that the offered university should have the arrangements of Indian Food for our Indian students, if there is no such arrangements then the candidates will have to cook themselves as in the case of maximum Russian universities, cooking own food consumes lots of time and energy of candidates that they should be investing in their studies.
